A printer by trade, and an avid birdwatcher John J. Amtsfield, 79, of Brushy Knob, Mo., died Dec. 28, 2008 at his home.
John was born Oct 5, 1929 in Lansdowne, Pa., to Carl H. and Mary (Rhoads) Amtsfield. He married Carole Kelley on July 30, 1949.
John is survived by his brother, Carl E. of Palm Beach, Fla.; sons John J., of Boyertown, Pa., and Douglas M. of Perkiomenville, Pa.; and daughters, Dawn Collison and Carole Faust, both of Brushy Knob, with whom he resided.
John has eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at Brushy Knob Church, junction of Highways 76 and C, on Sunday Jan. 11, at 6 p.m.
John was a printer by trade, and an avid birdwatcher and member of the Audubon Society. He was editor of the Unami Audubon Society Newsletter.
