
He enjoyed family, friends, playing music, fishing, hunting. Danny Lee Dudley, Strafford, son of Marvin and Esther (Morrison) Dudley, was born Feb. 27, 1941 in Niangua, Mo., and departed this life Jan. 5, 2009, at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield. At the time of his passing he was 67 years of age.
On July 21, 1978, Danny was united in marriage to Joyce Clayton. He attended Marshfield Free Will Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Esther Dudley; two sons, Marc Jones, and Kenny Jones; one daughter, Rhonda Lynn Dudley; two brothers, Elvin Dudley, and Howard Dudley; and three sisters, Leta, Emogene, and Christine.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of the home; two daughters, Cindy Jones, Miller, Mo., and Lorinda Phelps and Robert, St. Charles, Mo.; three sons, David Jones, Miller, Mo., Rory Dudley, state of Indiana, and Randy Dudley and Vickie, Ava, Mo.; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
After retiring from Springfield Underground, Danny devoted his time toward running the family farm. He enjoyed spending his spare time playing music with his friends, fishing and hunting.
Services for Danny Lee Dudley will be held at 11 a.m. today (Thursday, Jan. 8) at Day Funeral Home, Marshfield, with Rev. Jack Day and Jack Dinwiddie officiating. Burial will be in Copening Cemetery, Niangua. Visitation was held from 7-8 p.m., Wednesday, in the funeral home chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Copening Cemetery fund and left with the funeral home.
