Barbara Lee Young, 80


Barbara loved family, friends – she loved and adored them Barbara Lee Young, 80 years, passed away on Oct. 17, 2008 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare. Barbara was born Nov. 16, 1927, in Thornfield, to Earl and Thelma (Garrison) Evans.

Barbara was a housewife and a lifelong resident of the Ava community. On Dec. 23, 1948 Barbara and Lester Young were united in marriage in Ava and to this union two sons were born. She was a member of the Gentry Church. She loved to read books and was a quick read. Barbara loved being with her family and friends and she loved and adored them.

Barbara was preceded by her parents, husband, Lester, one granddaughter and one brother, Wayne.

Barbara is survived by two sons and their spouses, George and Janice Young, Ava, and Kenneth and Elizabeth Young, Blackburn, Mo.; four grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one sister, Judy and Bill LeVelle, Walnut Shade, Mo.; two brothers, Jim Evans, Loganville, Ga., and Sim Evans, Ohio; one aunt, Lena and Jim Sallee, Mt. Vernon; a sister-in-law, Delores Young, Ava; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Barbara were Monday, Oct. 20, at 2 p.m. at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with burial in Denney Cemetery. Officiating was Pastor David Dodson.
