Robert Dale Gunter, 61

Departed this life in Ava surrounded by his loving family Robert Dale Gunter was born Feb. 4, 1947, in Mtn. Grove, to parents Gale and Juanita McBride Gunter. He departed this life Oct. 2, 2008 in his home in Ava surrounded by his loving family, after a long illness.

Robert lived in the Brixey area as a boy where he learned to hunt and fish. He especially enjoyed hunting deer and squirrel. He loved his family dearly. He was a good father; grandfather, brother, son, uncle, and cousin as well as a good friend to all who knew him. He was always willing to help anyone in need. He had recently accepted the Lord as his personal Savior. He worked as a carpenter and brick mason for many years. He will also be remembered for his keen sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Robert is survived by his mother, Juanita Crouch, of Ava; one son, Robert Dale Gunter Jr. and Linda, of Flippin, Ark.: two daughters, Michelle Cole and Don Farris of Gassville Ark., and Vanessa Miller and Todd, of Mtn. Home, Ark., and a stepson, Bruce Gruver and Tammy of Arlington, Texas. He is also survived by six grandchildren and six step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and brother, Johnny and Shirley Gunter, of Ava. He will be missed by a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, at the Souder Cemetery with the Revs. Oren Alcorn and Shane Chellis officiating. Visitation was hosted at the Ava Family Funeral Home on Sunday, Oct. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. All arrangements were under the care and direction of Ava Family Funeral Home.
