Lillian enjoyed quilting, gardening, polka music, crocheting Lillian Bengtson, 80, Ozark, formerly of Ava, passed away Monday, Aug. 11, 2008, in Ozark Nursing and Care, Ozark.
She was born April 12, 1928, in Knowlton, Wisc., to John and Cornelia (Cisewski) Danczyk. On Oct. 31, 1953, she was united in marriage to Lyle Bengtson in Stevens Point, Wisc.
The couple farmed in Wisconsin then moved to Nevada to work in the copper mines. After retiring they moved to Goodhope, Mo., where Lillian enjoyed quilting, gardening, polka music and crocheting. Lillian also volunteered as a Sunday school teacher, enjoyed visiting her neighbors and cared for her disabled husband. Her caring heart and special affection was also bestowed upon her cats and dogs.
Lillian is survived by her husband, Lyle; her children, Lester Bengtson and wife, Teri, Larold Bengtson and wife, Diane, all of Ava, LouAnn Sherman and husband, Jerry, of Ozark, Ladora Bell, of Mt. Vernon, and Lorrose Bolt, of Republic; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; other caring relatives and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. today (Thursday, Aug. 14) in Barnes Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Doug Bjerke officiating. Burial will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation was held in Barnes Family Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. August 13.
