A life long resident of Squires Dave William Fleetwood, son of William Dave Fleetwood and Maggie (Hitchcock) Fleetwood, was born Aug. 23, 1927, at Squires, Missouri and passed away July 8, 2008, at the age of 80 years 10 months and 15 days.
Dave was a life long resident of Squires. On March 6, 1959 Dave and Sylvia Marie Maples were united in marriage by Rev. Earnest Hamby in Ava, and they were blessed with one son, Robert, who resides in Branson West, Mo., and is employed by Silver Dollar City. Dave was a road construction laborer and farmer. At the time of his death he was still residing on the farm where he was probably born. Dave attended Murray Church.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Sherman and Burney Fleetwood; one sister, Dorothy (Fleetwood) Plumb and her husband Billy Plumb; two half brothers, Bill (Will) and Fred Fleetwood; and two nephews, Timothy Hartgraves and Harlin Plumb.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia and son, Robert William (Bobby) Fleetwood; two sisters and their spouses, Ellie and Russell Doran, Ava, and Ethil and Leon Lane, Squires; nieces, Betty and Darrel Hesterlee, Ruby and Ray Gard of Independence; many other nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 11 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Junior Hall officiating. Interment will follow in the Murray Cemetery.
