Kind fun loving person,enjoyed travel,camping,fishing,family Gevene Maxine Cochran was born on May 14, 1936 in Twin Falls, Idaho, the daughter of Noble and Hazel Mitchell Smith, and departed this life on May 25, 2008 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 72 years old.
On Dec. 31, 1952 Gevene and Raymond Lee Cochran were united in marriage in Oakland, Calif., and to this union four children were born. Together they shared over 50 years of marriage. Gevene was a kind and fun loving person, enjoying traveling, camping, fishing, spending time with her family and could not pass up any chance to attend or watch a bull riding event. As a member of the Brushy Knob Church since 1980 she will be dearly missed.
Gevene was preceded by her husband, Ray, a brother, Vern Smith, and a sister, Shirley Smith.
Her survivors include her two sons, Roger and wife, Kim Cochran, of Norwood, and David Cochran, also of Norwood; two daughters, Rhonda and husband, Disney Price, of Theodosia, and Liana and husband, Jamie Young, of Seymour. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren.
Services for Gevene Cochran were graveside Wednesday, May 28, in the Brushy Knob Cemetery at 2 p.m., under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava. No formal visitation was scheduled.
