He loved boating, fishing, gardening, traveling. Lerman Troy Duckworth, 89, passed away Monday, Feb. 25, 2008. He was born to Walter and Clella (Nave) Duckworth on Dec. 18, 1918. He was a member of First General Baptist Church in Springfield. He loved boating, fishing, gardening and traveling.
On Nov. 5, 1965, he married Ella Mae Sallee Willhoit and lived in California for many years. After retiring, they moved to Springfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Donia Boyes, three brothers, Lawrence, Kenneth and Norman Duckworth, and one great-granddaughter, Loretta Graham.
Survivors include his wife, Ella Mae, of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Bill Huffman, Ava; one stepson and his wife, George and Joyce, of Kansas City; one sister, Claudia Dixon, of Eugene, Ore.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and a special niece, Jan and husband, Tom Weaver, of Springfield; and many other friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at Greenlawn Funeral Home South, Springfield, with the Rev. Dean Trivitt officiating. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. with services at 10.
Interment will be at 2:30 in Lutie Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to First General Baptist Church, 1400 W. Walnut St., Springfield, Mo.
