A resident of Nixa, for the past 12 years Stella F. Winters, the daughter of Frank Tennison and Maggie (Anderson) Tennison, was born Oct. 3, 1920, in Chandler, Okla., and departed this life Feb. 18, 2008 at the age of 77 years 4 months and 15 days.
Stella was a resident of Nixa, for the past 12 years, moving there from Ava. On Dec. 24, 1938, Stella and Robert C. Winters were united in marriage in Delta, Colo. Stella and Robert were blessed with two children. Stella was a housewife and worked on the ranches with her husband, Bob, driving cattle trucks and equipment trucks.
Stella was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Robert C. Winters, of the home in Nixa; two sons, Robert C. Winters Jr. and wife, Katherine, Rogersville, and Larry D. Winters and wife, Delene, Missoula, Mont.; seven grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; four sisters, Ruby Brown, Long Beach, Calif., Fern Eades, state of Florida, Erma Lee Barnes, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Betty Teubner, Montrose, Colo.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be Friday, Feb. 22, at the Missouri Veteran Cemetery, Springfield. Memorials may be made to Life Outreach.
