A resident of Wasola for the past 31/2 years Sandra Jean Carlson, daughter of Raymond C. and Lila Fay (Fitzgerald) Carlson, was born on Nov. 28, 1959, in Omaha, Neb., and passed away on Feb. 4, 2008, in Cox South Hospital, Springfield, at the age of 48 years.
Sandra was a resident of Wasola for the past 31/2 years, moving from the Ava area. She had also lived in California. She had worked as a grocery store manager in California and also worked as a caregiver with Brook Care in Ava.
In 1989 Sandra met her loving partner, Thomas Coffey Sr. in Lake Elsinore, Calif., and to this union two children were born.
Sandra enjoyed reading, crocheting and caring for people. She loved being with her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving partner, Thomas, and one brother, Jerry.
Her survivors include her two children, Sarah Renee’ Coffey, Ava, and Thomas “Tommy” Coffey Jr., Wasola; four brothers, Robert, Bernard, Johnny and Jimmie Carlson, all of Omaha, Neb.; two sisters, Debra and Denise Carlson, also of Omaha; two aunts, Norma Ingram, Squires, and Lois Weidman, Ava; uncles, Kenneth Fitzgerald, Seymour, Gerald and Cindy Ingram, Squires, Gene and Jo Ingram, Neola, Iowa, Glen and Sherry Ingram, Omaha, Neb., and Ernie Weidman, Ava; close friends, Jerry and Carla Kaiser, Squires, Scott and Denise Pippin, Squires, Robbie Turner and Damon Walker; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be Thursday, Feb. 7, at 10:30 a.m. at Murray Cemetery, Squires. A visitation will be held before the service Thursday, 9 to 10 a.m. at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava. Online condolences may be made to www.clinkingbeardfuneralhome. com.
