She enjoyed gardening and fishing Funeral services for Mary L. Blake, 75, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, in St. Agnes Chapel, Springfield. Committal services were at 3 p.m. in Smith-Graham Cemetery in Longrun.
Visitation was held Friday in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut St., Springfield.
Mary was born in Dothan, W. Va., to Delphia and Noel in 1932. At the age of 7, she and her two sisters lived at Terra Alta due to the TB outbreak. She returned to Fayette County and attended Kingston High School. She married her sweetheart, Charles Ira Blake, and was a wife and mother of four children. In 1976 she moved to Longrun where she and Ira had a small farm. She enjoyed gardening and fishing. In 2001 she moved to Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Delphia and Desota Evans; her husband Charles; son Charles L; and sisters Alice and Jewel.
She is survived by her sisters, Shirley and Verna, of Ridgedale; and Brenda, of Jefferson, Ga.; a son Bill and wife, Debbie, of Hill Top, W. Va.; daughters, Regina and husband, Steve, of Niceville, Fla. and Lisa, of Springfield; a daughter-in-law, Barbara, of Concord, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
