Accustomed to hard work, and loved to cook Reba O. Hutchison began her earthly life on Feb. 14, 1922, at Vera Cruz, Mo., with parents Fred and Elva Souder Livingston. She began her heavenly life on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, at the age of 85.
On Oct. 18, 1938, she married Willard Hutchison and to this union three children were born, Jerry Dean, Judy and Jackie.
The kitchen table was the focus of her home as she entertained family and friends with food that was prepared with love.
She realized the need for God in her later life and became a member of the Ava General Baptist Church in her latter years. She was accustomed to hard work, whether in the factory or helping Willard drive a truck.
Reba was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Elva Livingston; an infant son, Jerry Dean; her husband, Willard; two sisters, Freda Manis and Melba Bogart; and one brother, Robert Livingston.
Reba is survived by one daughter, Judy Kent and husband, Ed, Ava; one son, Jackie Hutchison and wife, Pat, of Ava; one brother, Fred Livingston; three grandchildren, Scott Davis, Kelly Timpe and Kathy Scott; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; special sisters-in-law, Irma Evans and Joann Livingston; and many relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted in the Ava Family Funeral Home on Sunday, Jan. 20, at 2:30 p.m., with the Revs. Oren Alcorn and Billy Joe Evans officiating. Burial followed in the Ava Cemetery, under the direction of Ava Family Funeral Home.
