Previously a resident of Theodosia Henry “Skip” J. Dougherty the son of Henry S. Dougherty Sr. and Marjore Fields Dougherty was born Jan. 6, 1948 in St. Louis, and departed this life Dec. 21, 2007 at the age of 59 years 11 months and 15 days.
Henry was a resident of Greenfield, Mo., for the past six months, moving there from Theodosia. Henry was employed as a truck driver. On July 16, 1983 Henry and Deloris Mace were united in marriage in Granite City, Ill.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ronnie Dougherty.
He is survived by his wife, Deloris, of Greenfield; his children, John R. Dougherty, West Plains, Danniel J. Dougherty, Chicago, Ill., and Dahna Dougherty, Springfield; one stepdaughter, Letha Stamper, Theodosia; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald J. Dougherty, Ellis Grove, Ill.; and two half sisters, Ronda and Reanee.
Cremation services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava. A Memorial service will be held Sunday, Jan. 6, at 1:30 p.m. at the Ava Community Center. Online condolences may be made at www.clinkingbeardfuneralhome. com.
