A resident of Missouri most of her life Darlene Sue Valentine, daughter of Earl Everett Potter and Opal Roxie Davidson Potter, was born on Sept. 2, 1941, in McClurg, and passed away at her home with her family by her side on Dec. 9, 2007, at Ava.
Sue was a resident of Missouri most of her life. She was a personal health care giver. On Oct. 10, 1959, Sue and Jim Valentine were united in marriage and to this union four children were born. They had been married for 44 years. Sue enjoyed traveling and had also lived in Texas. She loved spending time with her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Claude and Bill Potter; and infant twin sons, Claude Grant and Billy Cole.
Her survivors include one daughter and husband, Jayma and Jeff Potter, Ava; one son and wife, Monty and Kathy Valentine, Squires; five grandchildren, Brandon, Rocky, Faron, Kelly and Ethan; two step-grandchildren, Blake and Marrissa; one sister, Earlean Evans, Ava; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial service for Sue will be Friday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m., in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with Pastor Lewis Stern officiating and eulogy by good friend, Alice Nelson.
