A loving and caring person who enjoyed family Mabel E. Gettys, 86, of Ava, passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2007, at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center, Ava.
Visitation was held from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, Independence, with a graveside service immediately following in Mound Grove Cemetery.
Ms. Gettys was born on Jan. 13, 1921, to Irvin and Agnes (Schott) Gettys in Ava. She had lived in the Kansas City area before moving back to Ava several years ago.
She was a hard worker and had an outstanding work ethic. She was a loving and caring person who enjoyed visits with her family members and crocheting.
Mabel is survived by a brother, Guy Gettys, of Springfield; and a sister, Grace Hardy, of Independence; and by many nieces and nephews.
