A lifelong resident of the area Eva Faye Skaggs, the daughter of Robert James Wallace and Sylvia Lorene Breshears Wallace, was born May 22, 1941, in Ava, and departed this life Nov. 16, 2007 at the age of 66 years 5 months and 24 days.
Eva was a lifelong resident of the area. Eva and Cleo Jackson (Jack) Skaggs were united in marriage in Mansfield.
She was a homemaker and was of the Pentecostal faith. Eva enjoyed sewing, jig and two-step dancing, music parties and spending time with her family.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Jim and Glenn Wallace, and one grandson, Howard Scott French.
She survived by her husband, Cleo Jackson (Jack) Skaggs, of the home, Mansfield; two sons, four daughters, two stepdaughters and one stepson, Don and Ruth Wallace, Albert Aborn, Debora Aborn, all of Mansfield, Evelyn Dollarhide, Ava, Susie and Ronnie Dollarhide, Mansfield, Mary and Franklin French, Mansfield, Deborah and Dennis Skaggs, David and Stephanie Skaggs, Danny and Patricia Skaggs, all of Cabool; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; two nephews, Ronnie Wallace, Mansfield, and Bob Wallace, Rockport; two sisters, Helen and Bill Ward, of Mansfield, and Jean and Red Esinhart, of Seligman; one brother, Tommy Parks, of Seligman; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held Monday, Nov. 19, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Gary Stigall officiating. Interment followed in the Ava Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
