Entertaining family was a delight for Pearl Pearl Elvest Evans, 91, was born April 5, 1916, in Douglas County to Curtis Fleetwood and Adaline McRaven Fleetwood, in the Rippee community east of Ava. She departed this life Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, at the Christian Health Care Center South, Lebanon.
Pearl worked hard to raise her family. All of her life she was a homemaker. Entertaining her family was her biggest delight. Keeping an immaculate house and having sparkling laundry hanging on the clothesline brought her much pride.
She enjoyed the company of her neighbors and friends, especially her dog, Bosco. She also enjoyed being outdoors and waIking all over Ava. Her quick smile will be missed as well as her sense of humor.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers; two sisters and one infant.
Pearl is survived by three sons and their wives, Marvin and Louise Naugle, and Tony D. Evans, all of Lebanon, and George (Bill) Evans and Linda, of Granite City, Ill.; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. She will also be deeply missed by a host of friends and other relatives.
Graveside services were conducted Monday, Oct. 29, at 2 p.m. in the Huffman #2 Cemetery near Ava with Mark Evans officiating, under the care and direction of Ava Family Funeral Home.
