William Eutah Lakey, 77

A resident of Douglas County for most of his life William Eutah Lakey was born Sept. 10, 1930, the son of William Elias Lakey and Alma Grace (Sharpton) Lakey, and departed this life Sept. 18, 2007, in his home at the age of 77.

Eutah was a resident of Douglas County for most of his life. On Dec. 17, 1950, Eutah and Violet V. Stall were united in marriage in Douglas County. Eutah and Violet were blessed with two daughters. Eutah was owner and operator of Lakey Construction Co.

Eutah attended the Dogwood Nazarene Church. He loved working and being with his family. He also enjoyed milking cows with his wife, Violet, hunting turkey and deer and being in the outdoors.

Eutah was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Hester Narramore.

His survivors include his wife, Violet, of the home, Ava; two daughters and their spouses, Glyndora Oeltjen and Tim, Carthage, and Marilyn Aldridge and Charles, Sparta; six grandchildren, Valerie, Melanie, David, Brad, Kyle and Erin; four great-grandchildren, Austin, Will, Cheyanne, and Hannah; two brothers, Larry Clell Lakey, of Aldrich, and Gary Lakey, Mtn. Grove; one sister, Leota Blakey, Mission Viejo, Calif.; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be Friday, Sept. 21, at 10 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Revs. Keith Lafferty and Michael Peebles officiating. Interment will follow in the Stillings Cemetery.
