Owner and operator of J.C. Penney Catalog Sales Mary Ellen Nash, the daughter of Clarence Trowbridge and Bernice (Thompson) Trowbridge, was born Jan. 29, 1943, in Rochelle, Ill., and departed this life Sept. 18, 2007, at Cox Hospital in Springfield, at the age of 64, after a courageous battle against cancer.
Mary was a resident of Douglas County, for most of her life. She was owner and operator of J.C. Penney Catalog Sales. Mary was a Christian.
On March 30, 1964, Mary and Ronald O. Nash were united in marriage in Rochelle, Ill. Mary had two sons, Dondi and Randy Nash. Mary enjoyed traveling when she could and spending time with her family.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
She is survived by her companion, Mickey Wharton, of Ava; two sons, Randy Nash and wife, Jayne, Escondido, Calif., and Dondi Nash, Ava; two stepchildren, Debbie Kotelnicki, Scottsville, Ky., and Dale Nash, St. Charles, Ill.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Trowbridge, Quincy, Ill., and Richard Trowbridge, Warner Robins, Ga.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with Elder Dale Wharton and Elder David Kelsey officiating. Interment will follow in the Fannon Cemetery.
