Gerald was born April 16, 1939, in Ava Gerald A. Davidson, 68, a resident of Colona, Ill., died Sept. 4, 2007, at Heartland Health Care Center in Moline, Ill.
Funeral services were held at noon Friday, Sept. 7, at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, Iowa. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until the time of the services on Friday. Burial with military honors conducted by the Moline American Legion Post 246 was in Rock Island (Ill.) National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Gerald was born April 16, 1939, in Ava, the son of Wesley and Beatrice (Turner) Davidson. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1962 and was honorably discharged in 1964. Gerald retired in 1986 after several years of employment as a truck driver for the Amoco Oil Company.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughters, Tracy Davidson, of Viola, Ill., and Lea Walters, of Dubuque, Iowa; his sons, Steve Davidson, of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Jerry Davidson and his wife, Pam, of Colona, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his brother, Beryl.
