Sherry Lynn (Nokes) Workman, 51

Sherry lived most of her life in the Ava community Sherry Lynn Workman, daughter of John A. Nokes and Phyllis Maxine Barnum Nokes, was born on April 3, 1956, in Twin Falls, Idaho, and departed this life with her loving family by her side on Aug. 28, 2007, in Ava (Dogwood area).

Sherry lived most of her life in the Ava community. On May 5, 1990, Sherry and Mike Workman were united in marriage in Ava. She was a loving wife, sister and daughter. Sherry loved riding mules, raising her Chihuahua dogs, farming, crafts, garage sales, visiting with people, being outdoors in the sunshine and hunting with Mike.

She was preceded in death by her father, John A., one sister, Linda Faye and two sons, Stacy Joe and Larry Wayne.

Her survivors include her husband, Mike Workman, of the home in Ava; her mother, Maxine Turner, Ava; one brother, Gary Lee Nokes, Squires; one sister, Vicki Jean Goodman, Ava (Dogwood area); many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host other relatives and many friends.

A memorial service will be Saturday, Sept. 8, at 1 p.m. at the Red Bank Baptist Church with the Rev. Leslie Hallmark officiating. Sherry specifically requested that in lieu of flowers to give to a charity or love offering to the family.

Cremation services were conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
