Philanthropic and active in service and church organizations Hazel Anderson, 79, was born June 20, 1928 in Jersey City, N.J. She passed away June 23, 2007.
Hazel was a graduate of Grosse Pointe High School in Grosse Pointe, Mich. She graduated from Washington University, Barnes Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis. Hazel married Eric Anderson on June 14, 1952. There are three surviving children, Eric Jr., Wayne, and Carol, as well as five grandchildren.
Hazel was very philanthropic and was active in many service and church organizations. Some offices held were: president of P.E.O. in both, Anaheim, Calif., and Ava, president of Ava Art Group, and president of United Methodist Women.
Hazel loved being with her family, church family, and friends. She enjoyed almost every form of arts and crafts.
A celebration of Hazel’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, at the Ava United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Ava United Methodist Church.
