A resident of the Ava area for the past 60 years Wilma E. Flynn, daughter of Neal Davis and Bertha (Brown) Davis, was born Jan. 4, 1916, in Fredonia, Kan., and departed this life June 6, 2007, at the age of 91.
Wilma was a resident of the Ava area for the past 60 years moving from Nebraska. Wilma and Kenneth Flynn were united in marriage on Feb. 18, 1932, in Fremont, Neb. Wilma and Kenneth were blessed with two daughters. She loved and enjoyed her family and working in her flower gardens. She was employed with Tobin Hamilton shoe factory for 21 years. Wilma was a member of the Gentry Church.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister, her husband, Kenneth, and one great-grandson, Noah.
She is survived by two daughters, Norma Denney, Ava, and Nancy Breshears, Ramona, Okla.; five grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Geraldine Hailey, Ava; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 9, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Revs. David Dodson and Oren Alcorn officiating. Interment followed in the Ava Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice of charity.
