Harold C. Farris, 75

A United States Air Force veteran Harold Clifton Farris, son of Lester and Thelma Reser Farris, was born July 13, 1931 in Mansfield, and departed this life on May 27, 2007, in Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, at the age of 75.

He was united in marriage to Pearl Seal on Dec. 2, 1950, and to this union six children were born. Harold attended the Mountain Side School in Douglas County and had lived most of his life in the Mansfield area. He was a farmer and had run the DX station in Mansfield many years ago.

Harold was a member of the Ava Full Gospel Church and was a United States Air Force veteran. In his spare time he enjoyed the outdoors where he loved hunting, fishing and trapping.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Lester Harold Farris, and two brothers, Bob and Olen Farris.

Harold is survived by two sons, Ronald Farris, of Macomb, and Clifford Farris, of Mansfield; four daughters, Connie Davis, of Phoenix, Ariz., Ronda Stahl and husband Wayne, of Bakersfield, Calif., Vonna Henley and husband Larry, of Mansfield, and Ramona Farris, of Macomb; the mother of his children, Pearl Farris, of Macomb; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth Farris and wife, Charlene, of Tulare, Calif.; and one sister Geraldene Buchanan of the state of Washington; nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, at Holman-Howe Chapel, Mansfield, with Pastor Butch McCleary officiating. Burial was in Cedar Gap Cemetery.
