A resident of Squires Richard Charles Weston, the son of Charles Weston and Elmina Tinkham, was born June 6, 1933, in Massachusetts and departed this life April 28, 2007, in Springfield, at the age of 73.
Richard was a resident of Squires, for the past 1 1/2 years, moving here from California. He was employed as a sheet metal engineer with Northrop in California for 30 years.
Richard was a veteran and served his country during the Korean Conflict. He served with the U.S. Army for four years and the Merchant Marines for four years.
Richard was a Christian and attended the Highway Church of the Nazarene. He loved his family dearly and thoroughly enjoyed fishing.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, David.
He is survived by one son, Robert Stokes and wife, Careen, Squires; three grandchildren, Alena, Robbie, and Daniella; and other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at Fannon Cemetery south of Ava with Pastor Mark Hatcher officiating. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava. Online condolences may be made to www.clinkingbeardfuneralhome. com.
