Loved to work with wood and his craftsmanship Edward (Ed) Christy passed away Monday, April 16, 2007, at his home in Ava.
Ed entered this life on Jan. 20, 1920, in Wiley, Colo., one of 15 children of Lewis and Violet Christy.
Ed loved to work with wood and his craftsmanship was well known in the area. He took great pride in creating something out of a piece of wood, whether it was a whole house or a small object. There are several people living in homes in the Ava area that are showcases of his workmanship.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Violet; his wife and the mother of his children, Lois, and also his wife, Wilda; and one daughter, Martha Nichols; as well as 13 brothers and sisters.
Ed is survived by his wife, Bea, of the home; two daughters, Violet Blakey and husband, George, and Joyce Burton; one son, William and wife, Barbara; and a son-in-law James Nichols.
