She and Lester loved being with family Inez B. Jenkins, the daughter of A.D. and Cora (Bond) Bennett, was born Oct. 27, 1911 in Peace Valley, Mo., the 11th of 13 children. Inez departed this life March 30, 2007 in Rocky Ridge Manor, Mansfield, at the age of 95.
Inez was a resident of Mansfield, for 61/2 years and a former resident of Ava. Inez was baptized in the Baptist faith. She was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star Ava Chapter #47 and was past worthy matron in 1967/1968.
On Dec. 24, 1937, Inez and Lester Jenkins were united in marriage in Hartville. She was a housewife and worked with her husband, Lester, in the Chief Freight Lines and later with the Chevrolet Co. in Seymour. She enjoyed gardening and especially caring for her iris. She and Lester loved being outdoors and being with family.
Inez was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lester in 1988, 11 brothers and sisters, Lexie, Villa, Ether, Al, Delia, Boyd, Blanche, C.O. “Doc”, Edna, Opal and Wayne; and 17 nieces and nephews.
Her survivors include, one sister Madge Herndon, Tulsa, Okla.; 21 nieces and nephews; a special niece, Dorlene House and family, Mansfield; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Oren Alcorn officiating, and Order of the Eastern Star service by Ava Chapter #47. Interment followed in the Ava Cemetery.
