Mary Ann Coonce, 66

Born on Oct. 2, 1940, in Romance, Mo. Mary Ann Coonce, daughter of Bernie Miller and Eva (Yeisley) Miller, was born on Oct. 2, 1940, in Romance, Mo., in Ozark County, and went home to be with her Lord on Feb. 11, 2007, with her loving family by her side in Springfield, at the age of 66.

Mary Ann was a resident of the Ava community most of her life. She was a medical technician for the Ava (Chastains) nursing home and also in Mansfield for over 30 years.

On June 8, 1957, Mary Ann and William Woodrow Coonce were united in marriage in Stover, Mo., and to this union five children were born. Mary Ann was a member of the Mansfield Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, flowers and most of all spending time with her family and praising her Lord.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and four brothers.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband, William Woodrow “Woody” Coonce, of the home in Ava; six children and their spouses, Pam and Wayne Coy, Scranton, Ark., Bill and Janet Coonce, Seymour, Laura Hicks, Mansfield, Phillip and Tina Miller, Independence, Debbie and Rick Ritter, Ava, and Bub and Lorie Coonce, Squires; 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nine brothers and sisters, Mike Miller, Independence, Jack Miller, Cortez, Colo., Rosie Miller, Joe Miller and Nellie Turner, all of Ava, Carol Gentry, Pensacola, Fla., Joann Kirkpatrick, Kansas City, Johnny Miller and Betty Jean (Miller), both of California; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services for Mary Ann were held Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 10 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, with Brother Mike Jones officiating. Interment followed in Fair View Cemetery (on U Highway). Services were conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava. The family requests that memorials be made to the Fair View Cemetery Fund c/o Barbara VanOrden, 500 N. Ash Ave., Mansfield, MO 65704.
