Born in Ava on February 24, 1937 Anna Mae Carr, 69, of East Moline, Ill., passed away Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, at her home. Anna entered life on Feb. 24, 1937, in Ava, the daughter of Wilburn and Nancy Newberry Barlett.
She loved to be with her family and especially loved to cook. Anna cooked for Harvey’s Restaurant which later became Sharon’s in East Moline, Ill. She also cooked for the American Legion. In her spare time, Anna loved to sew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, eight siblings, and a granddaughter, “Cati-Bug.”
Anna is survived by three sons, Robert and Sharon Allison, of East Moline, Ill., Raymond and Laura Allison, of Minnesota, and Roy Carr, of East Moline, Ill. She is also survived by two daughters, Roberta and Bruce Abramson, of Minnesota, and Romona and Bobby Stephens, of Missouri; 13 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one brother and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ava Family Funeral Home. A visitation is being held from 4 to 7 p.m. today (Thursday) at Van Hoe Funeral Home in East Moline. Visitation here will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Burial will follow at Turkey Creek Cemetery east of Ava. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Louis Shriners Hospital.
