Florence Plumb, 90

Loved being with family and friends Florence Plumb, 90, of Moline, Ill., died Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline, Ill.

Visitation was held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, Ill. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Murray Church, Squires, with visitation two hours prior to the service at the church. Ava Family Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.

Florence was born Jan. 2, 1917, in Wyoming, the daughter of Flora and William “Howard” Bowden. She married Virgil Plumb on April 10, 1937, in Wasola. Florence moved from Missouri to Illinois in 1957 with her family.

She loved being with her family and friends and preparing big meals to share. She had a very loving attitude and one of her favorite sayings was “There is good in everybody.” Her family was her life.

Survivors (and spouses) include sons, Albert (Ellen) Plumb, Moline, Ill., Jim (Mable) Plumb, Geneseo, Ill., Larry (Vicky) Plumb, Moline, Ill., and Leon (Mary) Plumb, East Moline, Ill.; daughters, Kathy (Victor) Maddalozzo, Milan, Ill., Naomi (Dick) Sundquist, Moline, Ill., Vicki Plumb, Moline, and Verba Plumb, Oklahoma City, Okla.; 22 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marjorie Addis, Gainesville.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Virgil, in 1999; great-granddaughter, Taylor Plumb; parents, Howard and Flora Bowden; sisters, Elizabeth Brown, Mary Julian and Betty Hodge; and a brother, Alvin Bowden.
