Ellis Adams, 84

U.S. Navy veteran of World War II Ellis Adams, 84, of Marshall, Mo., died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.

Born July 17, 1922, in Pondfork, Mo., he was the son of the late James L. Adams and Mary Ann Hackler Adams. On Oct. 27, 1944, he married Freeda Hardcastle who survives of the home.

He had been a resident of Mar-Saline Manor the past two years and had lived in Marshall since 1945, moving from Longrun. He had worked for 40 years at International Shoe Co. prior to his retirement. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

In addition to his loving wife of 62 years, he is survived by one daughter, JoAnn DeGraffenreid and husband, Gordon, of Olathe, Kan.; one son, Tom Adams and wife, Linda, of rural Sedalia; four grandsons, Jeff DeGraffenreid and wife, Paula, Jed DeGraffenreid, Eric Adams and Ben Adams; three great-grandchildren, Faith, Isaac and Grace DeGraffenreid; three sisters, Opal Parcels and husband, Olin, Mona Vogl and Ollis Ruhe, all of Marshall.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with the Rev. Bob Shephard officiating. Interment with military rites was in Ridge Park Cemetery, Marshall.
