Born near Arden in Douglas County Lora D. Bloomer, 89, was born Sept. 28, 1917, near Arden in Douglas County, the daughter of Monroe (Buddy) and Bessie (Barton) Garrison. Lora and Ross Bloomer were united in marriage in 1951.
She went to be with her Lord and Savior on Jan. 20, 2007, at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center, Ava, where she had resided a short time.
Lora loved the outdoors. She raised a garden as long as her health permitted. She loved caring for her pets, especially her little dog, Puppy, and cattle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Loda, and half sister, Maudie Davis.
Survivors include a niece, Norma Jean Selby, of Clinton, Okla.; two very special friends, Debbie Berthold and Jewell Johnson; and Tom and Sue Brown, her caregivers. A host of friends and relatives will also mourn her passing.
Visitation was hosted by Ava Family Funeral Home on Monday, Jan. 22, from 6 to 7 p.m., with graveside services conducted Tuesday, Jan. 23 in the Ava City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Arden Cemetery.
All arrangements were under the direction of Ava Family Funeral Home.
