A lifelong resident of the Ava area Ella Mae Wilson, daughter of Sam Kenner and Ora Gladys (Albright) Kenner, was born July 22, 1930, in Roy, Mo., and departed this life on Dec. 21, 2006, in Ava, at the age of 76. Ella was a lifelong resident of the Ava area.
Ella Mae and Herbert F. Wilson were united in marriage Sept. 15, 1947 in Harrison Ark. Ella and Herbert were blessed with five children. Ella Mae was a Christian and was raised in the Baptist faith. She always attended church. She worked at Hagale Industries in Forsyth for several years.
Ella Mae was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Joan Self, her husband, Herbert in 1984 and a son, Gerald Wilson.
She is survived by four daughters, Mary Hampton, Ava, Norma Calhoon, Chilhowee, Sandra Hampton, Springfield, and Darlene Hayhurst, Glendale, Ariz.; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held Wednesday, Dec. 27, at 10 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Revs. Gene Alphin and James Hathcock officiating. Interment followed in the Union Grove Cemetery.
The family requests memorials to Community Hospice of Mtn. Grove in care of the funeral home. Services were conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
