A member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Ava Joan Francis Romano, 76, of Heathsville, Va., died Dec. 17, 2006. She was the widow of Richard H. Romano. Upon retirement in 1992, Mrs. Romano and her late husband moved to Ava. A devoted Catholic, she was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Ava.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Christopher J. and Louise Romano of Heathsville, Va.; brother-in-law, Wilfred Jarvis, New Hartford, Conn.; sister-in-law, Anne Pollo of Bolton, Conn.
A memorial mass of Christian burial will be held at 9 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Poquonock, Conn., with interment in the church cemetery. A memorial mass will be held at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Ava at a later date.
