A resident of Ozark since 1995 Norris Vincent Oxner, the son of Norris Newbern Oxner and Theda Dean (Ermer) Oxner, was born June 26, 1965, in Helena, Ark., and departed this life Nov. 24, 2006, at the age of 41.
Vince was a resident of Ozark, since 1995, moving from West Plains. He was employed as a purchasing manager for the trucking industry for several years. On June 22, 2002, Vince and Melanie Dawn Robertson were united in marriage in Ava, and to this union a son was born.
Vince was a member of the Baptist Church and an officer of the Christian Co. Ducks Unlimited. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being with his family.
Vince is survived by his wife, Melanie; his son, Luke Mcrae Oxner of the home, Ozark; his parents, Norris and Theda Oxner, Mtn. Home, Ark.; one sister, Victoria Lynne Oxner, Ozark; father and mother-in-law, Rex and Judy Robertson, Thornfield; two sisters-in-law, Kelly Evans and husband, Mark, and Sherry Garrison and husband, Mike; one brother-in-law, Kevin Robertson and wife, Sherri; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Robert Roberts officiating. Interment followed in the Thornfield Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Luke Oxner Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home.
