A farmer and a member of the Mound Baptist Church Edward E. Stafford, the son of Ottie Stafford and Nancy (Shipman) Stafford, was born Feb. 12, 1927, in Roy, Mo., and departed this life Nov. 23, 2006, at the age of 79.
Ed was a resident of Chadwick for more than 20 years. He was a farmer and a member of the Mound Baptist Church. On May 19, 1945 Ed and Winnie Marie Blakey were united in marriage at Goodhope. Ed and Winnie were blessed with two sons. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, and fishing.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ralph and Rupert Stafford, and a sister, Ruth Moore.
Ed is survived by his wife, Winnie, of the home; two sons, Dale Stafford and wife, Sue, of Billings, and Dallas Stafford and wife, Jana, Sparta; four grandchildren, Matt Stafford and wife, Christie, Marionville, Adam Stafford, Kansas City, Dusty Stafford, Nixa, Joey Mills and wife, Jenny, Ozark; four great-grandchildren, Geoffrey and Katie Stafford, Jacob and Julia Mills; one sister, Barbara McKnight, Ozark; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, in the Mound Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Jones officiating. Interment followed in the Goodhope Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mound Baptist Church.
