Clyde W. Orick, 79

He was an Air Force veteran of World War II. Clyde Wesley Orick, age 79, of Oldfield, passed away Monday, Nov. 20, 2006, at Century Pines in Ozark.

He was born Aug. 4, 1927, in Pound, Va., the son of Phillip and Dorthula (Wells) Orick Hughes. On April 3, 1948 he and his wife, Velma Faye Maggard, were united in marriage. Mr. Orick worked in coal mines before moving to this area and working in the timber business. He always loved to hunt and fish whenever possible.

He was a member of Eastern Gate Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include four sons, James Orick and wife Linda, Oldfield, Doug Orick and wife, Diane, Fort Gibson, Okla., Charles Orick, Fort Gibson, Okla., and Roger Hawkins and wife Marie, of North Carolina; two daughters, Kathy Lunday, Sparta, and Christine Lakey and husband Christopher, Dogwood; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Faye; a daughter, Shirley Goodwin; an infant son, Clyde Orick Jr.; a grandson, Bryan Goodwin; a brother, James Orick; and his parents.

He was an Air Force veteran of World War II.
