Born Jan. 23, 1926, in Almartha Wayne Neil Prock, the son of Neil Prock and Elma (Shelton) Prock, was born Jan. 23, 1926, in Almartha, and departed this life Nov. 15, 2006, at the age of 80.
Wayne was a resident of Ava for the past 12 years, moving from Texas.
Wayne served his country during World War II with the U.S. Navy. He was a musician and was formerly employed in radio broadcasting. He enjoyed traveling the country, playing country music and radio broadcasting.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Alfred and Alvie, a sister Verna Gardner, and an infant sister.
He is survived by two brothers, Gerald and Ralph Prock of California; nephews Russell Prock and Eugene Gardner, also nieces Flo Etta Williamson and Elma Collins, all of the area; as well as several other nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, at the Souder Cemetery with Harlin Howerton officiating. Visitation was Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
