Born at Hilo, Mo. Glenda Fay Stewart Grisham, the daughter of William Richard “Chigger Bill” Graham and Rutha Ann (Welch) Graham, was born on March 16, 1917, at Hilo, Mo., in Douglas County. Glenda went to be with the Lord Oct. 25, 2006 at the age of 89.
On Jan. 15, 1943, Glenda married Ancil “Tom” Stewart in Reno, Nev. Glenda and Ancil were blessed with three children. In July of 1959 Glenda and “Tom,” and their three children, moved back to Douglas County, Mo. “Tom” went to be with the Lord on Jan. 8, 1979.
On Jan. 3, 1988, at the young age of 70, Glenda married Roger L. Grisham and moved to Taney County, where she attended New Mansion Baptist Church. Roger preceded Glenda in death and went to be with the Lord Aug. 8, 2004.
Glenda was also preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, one sister, Thelma Sanders, two brothers, Harvey and Doil Graham.
Glenda enjoyed her church and neighbors and people enjoyed being with her. She loved to visit and be with her friends and family.
Glenda is survived by one son, Tom Stewart, Ava; two daughters, Dorothy Davis, Ava, Rosemary Barnett and husband, Ralph, Inola, Okla.; four grandchildren, Stuart Zimmerman and wife, Gina, Claremore, Okla., Marilee Ormiston and husband, Andrew, Sparta, Sheila Davis, Sullivan, and Jordan Davis, Ava; six great-grandchildren, Abby, Maggie, and Zoe Zimmerman, Ancil, Bruce and Jesse Ormiston; several nieces, nephews, and lots of relatives and friends.
Services were at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Revs. Tom Johnson and Jeff Marsh officiating. Visitation was held Sunday from 5 to 6 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Services were conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
