Born and raised in Douglas County Joyce Irene Jones, daughter of Byran V. and Opal Irene (Hylton) Conley, was born July 25, 1941, near Ava, Missouri.
She departed this life Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006, in Heart of the Ozarks Health Care Center, in Ava, at the age of 65.
In 1960 she was united in marriage to Sheldon Jones and to this union one daughter was born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a nephew, Doug Conley; and a special niece Angela (Brazeal) Adamson.
Joyce is survived by a daughter, Gireda Moulds, and her husband, Jason, of Billings; two grandchildren, Shiane and Stetson Moulds, both of Billings; three brothers, Gene Conley, and his wife, Louise, of Mansfield, Billy Conley, and his wife, Karen, of Mountain Grove, and Danny Conley, and his wife, Janice, of Seligman; two sisters, Lena Brazeal, and her husband, Bill, and Linda Davis, and her husband, Gerald, all of Mansfield; a number of nieces and nephews, including two special nieces, Chanda Box, and Madison Box; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Douglas County and attended Ava High School. She resided in Springfield throughout most of her life, and worked as a hairdresser. Her family was very important to her and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Joyce attended the Higher Vision Worship Center, in Rogersville, where she enjoyed her fellowship.
In her spare time she enjoyed going to garage sales, cooking, embroidering, spending time in her garden and growing beautiful flowers. She also loved listening to her brothers play music.
Joyce was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and friends.
Services will be held Friday, Oct. 27, at 11 a.m. in Mansfield Cemetery, under direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Mansfield. Visitation will be held this evening from 6-7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
