Joe Bill "J.B." Long, 84

A resident of Camdenton for the past three years Joe Bill Long, son of Joe Long and Della Evans Long, was born on May 28, 1922, in Marion County, Ark., and departed this life on Oct. 18, 2006 in Camdenton, at the age of 84.

Joe Bill “J.B.” was a resident of Camdenton for the past three years moving from the Ava community where he lived for many years.

He was an independent truck driver. On March 17, 1949 “J.B.” and Gladys Wells were united in marriage in Mtn. Home, Ark. and to this union one daughter was born. He was of the Baptist faith.

“J.B.” was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Allen “Walker” Long and Albert “Dink” Long.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys of Camdenton; one daughter and son-in-law, Joetta and Mark House, Camdenton; three grandchildren, Tyrus, Kelsey and Andrew House, all of Camdenton; three sisters, Odell Weston, Wilburton, Okla., Raye Woodward, Dora, and Faye Crozier, Mt. Vernon; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 21, at 2 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, with burial following in the Lutie Cemetery, Theodosia. A visitation will precede the funeral from 12:30 p.m. to service time at the funeral home.

The family requests memorials to Lutie Cemetery, American Heart Assoc. or Arthritis Foundation. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
