Services conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava Winnie Inez Miller, the daughter of Walter Jackson Billingsley and Lulu E. (Brown) Billingsley, was born Dec. 30, 1907 in Yeager, Okla., and departed this life Oct. 8, 2006 in Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava, at the age of 98.
Winnie was a resident of Spokane for the past three years moving from Ava where she had lived for many years. She had also lived in Shenandoah, Iowa for years where she had worked at J.C. Penney and Bowen Bakery. After her retirement in 1969 she moved to Ava to live and care for her mother.
Winnie was a member of the Methodist Church in Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Homer Billingsley and one sister, Edith Billingsley.
Winnie is survived by one brother and his wife, James W. and Velma Billingsley, Spokane; five nephews, J.T. Billingsley and wife, June (whom Winnie made her home with before going to Heart of the Ozarks), Spokane, David Billingsley, state of Ohio, Jeff Billingsley, Forsyth, Donnie Billingsley, state of Iowa, and Donald Miller, Ardmore, Okla.; one niece, Pam Dyck and husband Jerry, Newton, Kan.; also several great nephews and nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be today (Thursday, Oct. 12), at 10:30 a.m. in the Mt. Tabor General Baptist Church with a visitation before at 10 a.m. at the church. The service will be officiated by the Revs. John Haskins and Paul Mohler.
Interment will follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
