Born Feb. 12, 1932, at Girdner Audra Durham Salas died suddenly Oct. 3, 2006, at her home in Henderson, Nev.
Audra was born Feb. 12, 1932, at Girdner, to Effie Potter Durham and Robert Durham. She was united in marriage to her football hero, Bert Salas, on Feb. 14, 1951. They raised two sons and a daughter in San Diego, Calif.
Audra is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bert, a son Tim, of San Diego, Calif.; a daughter, Adrianna Merrell, of Henderson, Nev.; a granddaughter, Danielle Merrell; a grandson, Brexton Wayne; and a sister-in-law, Iris Ann Durham, of Ava.
A son preceded Audra in death.
Audra was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed traveling and frequent bingo games at Las Vegas. She and Bert kept in close touch with their Ava High School classmates of 1950. They were always very supportive of their class reunions.
A memorial service will be held Oct. 11 in Henderson, Nev. Another memorial service will be held Oct. 15, in San Diego, Calif., as a convenience for Bert’s large family.
Donations may be made to the Shriners Children Hospital Burn Unit, in Los Angeles.
