Born in Mtn. Grove Margaret A. “Maggie” Chaney, the daughter of James Roy Chaney and Ruth Carnes Chaney, was born on June 18, 1947 in Mtn. Grove, and departed this life on Oct. 1, 2006, in Humansville, at the Northwood Hills Care Center at the age of 59.
She was a resident of Ava for several years. Maggie was loved and cared for by her family at Brooke Care health. She loved children, nature, watching baseball games on T.V. and music.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by one brother, James Chaney, of Connecticut; an aunt, Jewel Loomis, Cabool; uncles, Jack Chaney, Mtn. Grove, Dick and Nellie Carnes, Mtn. Grove; several cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside service was held Tuesday, Oct. 3, at 2:30 p.m. at the Penner Cemetery in Douglas County with the Chaplain Belva Tarrant officiating. Visitation was held Tuesday from 1 to 1:30 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
Services were conducted by Clinkingbeards of Ava.
