Daughter of Robert Ridenour and Lola Ridenour Kathy Darlene Downs, daughter of Robert Edward Ridenour and Lola Ann (Medlock) Ridenour, was born June 16, 1948 in Ava, and passed away Sept. 24, 2006 at the age of 58.
On March 8, 1968 Darlene and Donald Lee Downs were united in marriage in Squires. To this union seven children were born. Darlene was employed at the Douglas County Courthouse for many years. She was dedicated to her family. Darlene was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister who absolutely doted on her grandchildren.
Darlene is survived by two sons Donnie and wife, Karen, of Ava, and Eddie and wife, Missi, of Squires; four daughters, Karry Davis and husband, Steve, of Ava, Robin Lambert and husband, Robert, of Ava, Janette Stover and husband, Matt, of Squires, and Rachel Willis and husband, Daniel, of Ava; five brothers, Jerry Ridenour, Ava, Howard Ridenour, Springfield, Dean Ridenour, Ava, Rick Ridenour, Republic, and Greg Ridenour, of Florida; two sisters, June Copas and Peggy Ridenour, both of Forsyth; and 13 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Lowell Ridenour; one sister Donna Emerick; one daughter, Teressa Downs; and two grandchildren, Natasha Lambert and Katelin Hicks.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home Ava, with Rev. Donald Potter and Rev. Oren Alcorn officiating. Burial was in Whites Creek Cemetery.
Visitation was Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Whites Creek Cemetery Fund.
Services were conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home of Ava.
