A resident of the Ava area since 1977 Manford D. Farrow, the son of William Jesse Farrow and Parelea Anna (Marrow) Farrow, was born Nov. 16, 1924, in Carney, Okla., and departed this life Sept. 13, 2006, at the age of 81 years.
Manford was a resident of the Ava area since 1977, moving here from Owosso, Mich. Manford was employed and retired from General Motors after 30 years of employment. Manford served his country with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the VFW Post 5993, American Legion Post 112, Rebekah Lodge No. 236 and was a member of the Happy Home Freewill Baptist Church.
On Dec. 7, 1963, Manford and Avon Marian Rowell were united in marriage in Michigan; she preceded him in death in l99l. On July 16, 1992, Manford and Ulla Greene were united in marriage in Ava.
Manford was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Rex and Roma.
He is survived by his wife, Ulla, of the home, Ava; one sister, Melba Bruner, of Michigan; two brothers, Hershel Farrow, state of Arkansas, and Joe Farrow, state of Michigan; and many friends.
Services were held Friday, Sept. 15, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Tom Johnson officiating. Visitation was Friday from 9 a.m. to service time.
Interment was in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Owosso, Mich. on Sept. 19.
Memorials may be made to Neighbor Helping Neighbor. Military rites were conducted by American Legion Post 112 and VFW Post 5993.
