Pauline Sellers Wilson, 79

Lifelong resident of the Ava Pauline Sellers Wilson was born Nov. 2, 1926, in Douglas County, the daughter of Bailey and Ethel (Blankenship) Burton and departed this life Aug. 23, 2006, at the age of 79.

Pauline was a lifelong resident of the Ava area. She earned a college degree with a teaching certificate and was employed and retired from the Division of Family Services in Douglas County after 35 years of service. Pauline loved working on the farm, gardening and fishing. Her delight was being with her family and especially her grandchildren.

Pauline and Burl Sellers were united in marriage in Mtn. Home, Ark., and to this union two sons were born. On Feb. 22, 1990, Mr. Sellers preceded her in death.

On Jan. 31, 1993, Pauline and John Wilson were united in marriage in Douglas County, at the Frye Church where Pauline was a member.

Pauline was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Bill Burton, and a sister Bertha Haskins.

She is survived by her husband, John, of the home, Ava; two sons, Steven Sellers, Ava, and Gregory and TeNeil Sellers, Ozark; four grandchildren, Brandon, Stephanie, Bryan, Katrina and soon to be Broderick; two sisters, Dessie Buchanan, and Bernice Steele, both of Ava; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services were at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Revs. Oren Alcorn and Donnie Pruiett officiating. Interment followed in the Ava Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Road Runners Car Club to benefit Toys 4 Kids in Douglas County.
