Life long resident of Bradleyville Rex Maggard the son of Alfred Maggard and Adah (O’Neal) Maggard, was born July 26, 1936 in Bradleyville, and departed this life Aug. 18, 2006, at the age of 70.
Rex was a life long resident of Bradleyville, where he was a beef farmer.
On Jan. 8, 1959, Rex and Wanda Thompson were united in marriage in Brown Branch. He enjoyed coon hunting, auctioneering, rabbit hunting with beagles and fishing. He looked forward to church services and singings. Rex was a member of New Mansion Church.
Rex was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Pauline Mendenhall.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Wanda, of the home in Bradleyville; one daughter, Audrey Fay Maggard, Bradleyville; two grandchildren, Florence and Virginia, of South Carolina; two great-grandchildren, Benji and Savanna Kay; two brothers, Arnold and Gina Maggard, Yakima, Wash., and Burl and Helen Maggard, Bradleyville; two sisters, Velma Kelly, Caldwell, Idaho, and Thelma and Leon Floyd, Dallas, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Revs. Randy Maggard, Carl Thompson and Benny Dewitt officiating. Interment followed in the Patterson Cemetery.
