Moved to Ava in 1991 Gerard Patrick “Pat” Greeley, 71, of Ava, passed away Aug. 12 at his residence after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Springfield, Ill., on Feb. 20, 1935, to James Sr. and Marguerite Greeley. He was employed at Dolly Madison and the Illinois Department of Public Aid before retiring and moving to Ava in 1991.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Greeley; children, Greg Greeley, of Peoria, Ill., Lee Rodgers, Ava, Randy Rodgers, Bartlesville, Okla., Cheryl Bruno, Murrayville, Ill., Denise Barofsky, Alto, Mich., Dianne George, Commerce Township, Mich.; special family members, Kevin White, of Bartlesville, Okla., and Jim and Tommie Wilson, of Plainview, Texas; and 13 grandchildren including Jacob and Brenna Rodgers, of Ava.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James Jr. and Richard; and two sons, Kevin and Brian Greeley.
The family has suggested memorial donations to Bradleyville or Goodhope Volunteer Fire Department.
