Born in Gainesville Samuel Lawrence Hannaford, age 88, of Mansfield, died July 31, 2006, in Springfield, after a short illness. He was born June 24, 1918 in Gainesville, the son of the late Edwin and Ellen Hannaford.
Lawrence was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by a son, Joe Hannaford, March 31, 2006.
Survivors are a daughter, Deana Martin, Vancouver, Wash.; a daughter-in-law, Patty Hannaford, Strafford; a son, David Hannaford, Springfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and David Fairchild, Seymour; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He requested that there be no services or visitation.
Interment was in the Dyer Cemetery in Douglas County, under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
